A Rubik’s cube, a mysterious cube with a challenge within it that only
few people know how to solve.
Geometrically speaking, it is a cube formed by six square and equal
faces of six different colours (yellow, white, blue, orange, green and red). Each
face is divided into nine mobile squares that can be moved to create different
figures or to solve the cube ones it is messed.
It is a very simple, yet complex and logic game that might be find
interesting because if the challenge it represents. Moreover, due to its shape
students can work with it some geometrical properties like the length, the
width and the depth, that can be seen clearly in the cube.
Nowadays there are many different types of Rubik’s cube, and not all of
them have the “normal” shape. It is very interesting to observe the different
figures and try to study their properties while
trying to win the challenge.
Children can try to solve them, and afterwards help their classmates or try to explain how they did it. If it is very difficult there are some videos like this one to help them.
