Origami, the Japanese art of folding paper into decorative
shapes and figures.
This is a very visual and different way to see figures
of animals, plants, objects, etcetera made with paper. These figures, if we
look close at them, have a variety of geometrical shapes that are used within
the many folds of the paper. The most common shapes are squares and triangles,
but we can also find trapeziums, pentagons and other geometrical figures.
This is a funny way of seeing the different figures
and knowing how they can be made, for example, a square id formed by two equal
triangles. Moreover, using paper we can make 3D polyhedron through the flat
development of figures to touch and visualise these shapes and know their
characteristics more efficiently.
They can make regular polyhedron using the flat
development of the figures. Previously they can mark or differentiate its main
parts to recognise them easily.
And if they want more challenge they can try to make
irregular polyhedron following the instructions of a video like this one.
